No matter from what direction you come from to finally arrive -- the Ninole Loop Road provides the local area access to the target area of Punaluu Harbor, where the Black Sands Beach Park is.

To get to the Loop Road you arrive via Highway 11 (it is also called the Hawaii Belt Road).

The area with the orange square with a white star is our target.

From Kailua-Kona:

- take Route 11 South in the direction of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park ("Volcano" on the road signs). Approximately 5 miles after passing through the town of Na'alehu, turn right at the Punalu'u Black Sands Beach sign. Follow the road 1.1 miles, passing the beach pavilion on the right - stay on the paved road bearing to the left, do not take the road that parallels the beach. After 1.1 miles, turn right onto the unpaved driveway; this leads directly to both the cottage and main beach house.

From Hilo:

- take Route 11 South in the direction of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park ("Volcano"on the road signs). Approximately 5 miles after passing the turn-off to the town of Pahala, turn left at the Punalu'u Park sign. Follow the road 1 mile down to the bottom of the hill. Just after the road bears right, turn left onto the unpaved driveway. This leads directly into both the cottage and main beach house.

There are two entrances into the property.

Coming from the West (away from the golf course toward the Lei Stand), the first entrance is best for the cottage, as you can drive directly under the cottage and park.

The second entrance (more toward the Lei Stand) is best for the house as you can drive directly under the house and park.

Please do not drive thru the yards or drive into the first entrance and around the house to get to the under the house parking of the house.
